The Best Night Ever

Sunday night I had my family over for dinner. Dave's parents were visiting from Vermont and had brought Jacob with them. Chris came and brought Hannah and Connor and since Monday was NOT a school day, we let the kids play outside well into the darkness. We inevitably collected a neighborhood boy who joined in the fun. I called them inside after it was too dark to see them and was greeted with groans and complaints. When I was tucking Nate into bed, he said to me that it was "the best night ever". It made me think about how many nights my brothers and I would stay out late playing with the other neighborhood kids. Our "best nights ever" included "what time is it Mr. Fox?".
