TESTING 1....2.....3....
I am on a mission. I want to create a classroom blog so that I can publish my students' writing and artwork. It really is too good to keep to myself! I spent most of the day at a training looking at different web blog sites and tried to decide which one would fit my classroom needs. One of the things that I want to be able to do is publish video. I am going to go with Blogger if I can get video on it. There is a comfort in going with what you know. SO....Nathan gets to be my at-home guinea pig. If I can get this video of him up on this blog, not only will you be entertained by the musical stylings of Nate the Great, but you will soon see another blog about my terrific students!

ReplyDeletewait....tough night...it did work! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah Lori! The video works! And Yeah, Nate! You sound great!!!
ReplyDeleteLori - I just got back from Kidlit Con, all about children's literature bloggers. One thing that came up is privacy issues around children...you might really want to be careful about this with your students. Mary Lee Hahn, of A YEAR OF READING blog, talked about how she is just starting with kids blogs - you might wish to check it out. I would totally trust Mary Lee. http://kidblog.org/home.php
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd make it work! I knew you'd be blogging tonight too! Today was great fun! I can't wait to see your classroom blog!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!
Nate is adorable! And musical! What a treat. Was it tough to embed the video? What kind of camera do you have? Way to go! A.
ReplyDeleteUp and running! Definitely look into Amy's comment, though. I figure my own kids are fair game, but I try not to use their names on my blog. And I don't name or post photos of other kids without parental permission. (Or their permission for those in the 18+ age range.) One of my favorite bloggers refers to her kids as "the aspiring adult" and "big kid". Another refers to his kids as.... oh! I forget what the older child is called, but the younger one is "the sequel" :o) Congrats to Nate on some awesome playing! And to you for figuring out video!
